Mumtaz

Mumtaz is named for Mumtaz Mahal, the empress for whom the Taj Mahal was built, and whose name means “the exalted one of the palace.” The design channels the Mughal architectural language at its most refined: a mihrab rendered in warm ivory stone, its interior centred on a delicate jali lattice window - the carved marble screens that filter light in the great Mughal monuments of Agra and Delhi. A vine of red and green flowers traces the upper border with graceful restraint. It is a study in negative space and architectural poetry, a mat that understands that true luxury sometimes lies in what is left unsaid.
